DULUTH, GA – May 7, 2012 – In their first year participating as an organized team, twenty-two employees of PossibleNOW and CompliancePoint surpassed their goal to raise more than $8,200 to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life program. The team, which totaled 31 people including family and friends, participated at one of the largest Relay For Life events held at the Gwinnett County fairgrounds on May 4th and 5th. In addition, two other local companies, Benevox and Kelly Services, participated with the PossibleNOW and CompliancePoint team.
Relay For Life helps communities around the world celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Thanks in part to the generous contributions to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, the Society is saving lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. By supporting Relay For Life, the PossibleNOW and CompliancePoint team help make the American Cancer Society’s mission possible, and that helps the Society move closer to its ultimate goal: a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
PossibleNOW’s team conducted several fund-raisers including a silent auction and a cookout. The team continued their fundraising efforts at the Relay For Life Event at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds where they sold flavored coffees and snow ball cones.
“I am very proud that our team set a goal and surpassed it in our fundraising efforts,” comments team captain, Sandy Tafur of PossibleNOW. “Our team’s motto was, ‘When we all work together, we can beat cancer NOW.’ It is very gratifying to know that our team was part of a nationwide effort to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.”
